Great War Ski Tour in the Dolomites

ACROSS THE DOLOMITES

1 DAY OR MORE

JANUARY - EARLY APRIL

A guided Great War Ski Tour in the Dolomites linking Alta Badia, Arabba, Alleghe, Passo Giau and Passo Falzarego, skiing around Col di Lana on one of the largest and most scenic ski circuits in the Alps. All in the giant Dolomiti Superski!

The Great War Ski Tour takes place entirely within the Dolomiti Superski area and is one of the most complete ski circuits in the Dolomites. Starting from Corvara in Alta Badia, the route crosses multiple valleys and mountain groups, reaching Alleghe and the Civetta range, Passo Giau, the Cinque Torri area and the summit of Lagazuoi. You will ski almost the entire loop, with only two short ski bus transfers of about 20 minutes each to connect specific sections. From the top of Lagazuoi, one of the most panoramic viewpoints in the Dolomites, you descend along an incredible run past Rifugio Scotoni down to Armentarola, where horses tow you across a flat section before reconnecting with the Alta Badia lifts.

This is a full day alpine journey across three Italian regions, covering vast terrain in a single day on skis. Good fitness and confident, efficient skiing are essential to complete the entire loop within the day. In case of bad weather or lift closures, some sections may require taxi transfers. With a Mountain Guide, the tour becomes smoother, safer and richer in meaning, helping you navigate efficiently and understand the history and landscapes of these former World War I mountains.

Do you prefer a more relaxed pace? No problem… the Great War route can also be organized over two days with an overnight stay in a Rifugio in the mountains along the way.

If instead you want to ski a longer ski safari of multiple days, explore the program of the Grand Ski Safari of the Dolomites! And if you are looking for a shorter one day circuit, the classic Sellaronda Ski Tour around the Sella massif remains a perfect alternative.
