Ski Safari

If you love skiing, then at least once in your life you have to experience a ski safari in the Dolomites!
Imagine skiing from valley to valley, carving fresh tracks through ever-changing scenery—towering peaks, pristine forests, dramatic cliffs, and sun-drenched slopes. This is more than a ski trip: it’s an alpine journey across one of the most breathtaking mountain ranges in the world.

Your ski safari will take you through iconic destinations like the Altopiano dello Sciliar, Val Gardena, the majestic Marmolada Glacier, the wild beauty of the Civetta range, the legendary slopes of Cortina d’Ampezzo, the towers of Cinque Torri, and on to Alta Badia, Val di Fassa, and Carezza! Each day a new landscape, a new story, a new adventure!

This multi-day experience can be done entirely on-piste, following the endless runs of the Dolomiti Superski network, or we can take it off-piste for a thrilling backcountry adventure with one of our certified Mountain Guides. You decide how bold or relaxed your journey should be, and we'll tailor it to your skiing level and appetite for exploration.

By day, enjoy the freedom of gliding from slope to slope. By night, relax in alpine hotels and cozy mountain huts, where you’ll enjoy warm hospitality, incredible views, and hearty local cuisine. Wake up to sunrise over the peaks and head out for another unforgettable day on the snow.

Like all of our trips, our Ski Safaris are fully customizable. Whether you have three days or a full week, whether you're skiing with friends, family, or solo… we'll build a personalized itinerary that fits your style, pace, and schedule.

3 SKI SAFARI TRAVEL OPTIONS

1 - BACKPACKING AND PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION:

The most adventurous and budget-friendly and eco-conscious option is to ski with a backpack and move around the Dolomiti Superski area using public buses.

Pack smart, pack light — here’s your list!

    • A small personal hygiene kit (including any personal medications, toothbrush and toothpaste, and a lightweight microfiber towel)

    • light sneakers for short walks (no more than 15 minutes)

    • a power bank and phone charging kit

    • a waterproof bag with a change of clothes for the evening

    • a second pair of gloves

    • a rain cover for your backpack

2 - LUGGAGE TRANSFER & PRIVATE TAXI OPTION:

The most comfortable option is to ski light and take advantage of a private taxi service for both luggage transport and the longer transfer sections.

Your bags will be transferred from one accommodation to the next, and you’ll find them waiting for you upon arrival!
A quote for the additional costs is available upon request.

Please note: This option is only available for certain ski safaris.
It is always possible for on-piste ski safaris and the Backcountry Dolomites Traverse, but not available for hut-to-hut traverses.

3 - SAFARI FROM A BASECAMP HOTEL

The most relaxing option is the hotel-based ski safari, where you stay in the same hotel throughout the trip with all your luggage, and set out each day to explore and ski in a different area of the Dolomiti Superski.

A quote for the additional costs is available upon request.

Please note: This option is only available for on-piste or freeride ski safaris, but not available for the Backcountry Dolomites Traverse and for the hut-to-hut traverses.

FAQ

  • Depending on the safari, you’ll stay in a mix of charming alpine hotels, guesthouses, and mountain huts (Rifugi). You can choose between more adventurous or more comfortable options.

  • Spending the night in a rifugio is a unique and unforgettable part of the Dolomites experience! Cozy atmospheres, breathtaking views, and the warm hospitality of the mountain hut keepers make it truly special.

  • You should be comfortable on red slopes (intermediate) and able to ski for several hours a day. This applies to on-piste ski safaris. For backcountry traverses, previous ski touring experience and good fitness are required.

  • Typically, we ski between 5 to 7 hours per day, including scenic stops, lunch breaks, and time for photos. Daily distances vary depending on the route and group level.

  • Skiing continues in most weather conditions.

In case of extreme weather (e.g. high winds, avalanche risk), the itinerary may be adjusted for safety.

  • Equipment can be rented on-site at the start of the tour. We’ll explain how to reserve your gear when you book.

  • We can organize tailor-made private ski safaris for individuals, families, or groups. On-piste tours are limited to a maximum of 8 people per guide, while off-piste tours have a maximum of 6 people per guide. For larger groups, an additional guide will join.

  • The ski safari season runs from mid-December to early April. January, February, and early March are ideal for snow quality. For backcountry tours, feel free to ask us for more details — the best period generally runs from mid-February to late April, depending on altitude and snow conditions.
