Rock Climbing Safari in the Dolomites

The Dolomites are a true rock climbing mecca! A landscape where legendary pioneers pushed the limits of what was possible, forging bold new lines and writing unforgettable chapters in alpine history. From compact limestone towers to airy ridgelines and historic walls, climbing here is not only about difficulty, but about movement, exposure and the unique atmosphere of these mountains.

With Dolomitesafari, rock climbing becomes a journey through places and perspectives. You can begin with a single-day experience, perfect for discovering multipitch climbing or sharing a first vertical adventure, even with the whole family, or design a tailor-made ascent on a dream route. For those looking to go deeper, our Rock Climbing Safaris transform climbing into a multi-day experience, travelling across valleys or staying in iconic mountain huts while exploring some of the most inspiring lines in the Dolomites.

Each program reflects a different way of living the safari spirit. Our Hut-to-Hut Climbing Safaris offer immersive alpine traverses between Rifugios, moving through dramatic high-altitude landscapes. The Hotel-Based Safaris, such as the Cortina and Alta Badia experience, provide a comfortable basecamp while visiting different climbing areas day by day. Other itineraries travel across several valleys in search of the best rock and classic routes, adapting constantly to conditions and to the wishes of the participants. All programs remain flexible and customizable, from adding rest days with scenic hikes to including a via ferrata for a change of rhythm between climbing days.

Beyond the high peaks, the adventure continues throughout the seasons. When conditions in the Dolomites change, we explore alternative climbing areas on excellent rock — from the porphyry walls around Bolzano to the sunny crags of Arco and Lake Garda, and even quieter hidden gems like Val Camonica or the Lago d’Iseo region. And for those seeking something truly unique, the Adamello Hut-to-Hut Climbing Safari opens the door to remote granite landscapes far from the crowds.

Whether you are taking your first steps into multipitch climbing or chasing iconic alpine lines, the goal remains the same: to experience the Dolomites vertically, travelling lightly through the mountains and discovering new perspectives along the way.

Climbing Beyond the Dolomites

Beyond the high Dolomite peaks, the safari spirit continues throughout the seasons. When temperatures shift or when you simply wish to explore a different side of northern Italy, we move beyond the classic Dolomite walls to discover other remarkable climbing areas just a short distance away. From the porphyry cliffs around Bolzano to the sunny limestone crags of Arco and the Lake Garda region, these programs offer excellent conditions during cooler months while keeping the same exploratory approach.

For those looking to step away from the most popular locations, we also venture into quieter valleys only a few ranges away, hidden corners such as Val Camonica or the Lago d’Iseo area, where climbing remains authentic, varied and far from the crowds. These experiences are not separate from the Dolomitesafari idea; they simply extend it, allowing you to keep travelling vertically through different landscapes while discovering new rock, new atmospheres and new perspectives.
