VIA FERRATA SAFARI
Brenta Dolomites Via Ferrata Traverse
BRENTA - MADONNA DI CAMPIGLIO
UP TO 4+ DAYS
JULY - OCTOBER
A multi-day hut to hut via ferrata traverse through the Brenta Dolomites, a universe of its own within the Dolomites. The legendary Bocchette del Brenta route forms the heart of this journey, linking exposed ledges, high passes and vertical towers in a continuous mountain traverse high above Madonna di Campiglio.
The Sentiero delle Bocchette is an equipped high-altitude trail in the Brenta Dolomites and is widely considered one of the most famous and fantastic via ferrata routes in the entire Dolomites. It is divided into several sections, including Bocchette Alte and Bocchette Centrali, and runs along the characteristic ledges that define the shape of the mountains of the Brenta group. Walking these natural terraces, suspended high above the valleys, gives a unique feeling of continuity and exposure!
During this multi-day journey, nights are spent in the classic Rifugios of Trentino such as Rifugio Tuckett, Rifugio Alimonta and Pedrotti Tosa, where the atmosphere of life at altitude becomes a fundamental part of the experience. Depending on conditions and the group’s level, other via ferratas and panoramic variants can be added, creating a complete hut to hut traverse through the heart of the Brenta Dolomites!

Madonna di Campiglio (1,550m / 5,085') is a charming alpine resort town, nestled in a breathtaking valley, surrounded by the Adamello Brenta Natural Park on three sides.Beyond the obvious outdoor appeal, Madonna di Campiglio has a rich history. In the early 20th century, it became a favored destination for European aristocracy, and its popularity has only grown since. The town’s careful blend of historical architecture and modern amenities ensures it retains a timeless charm, where you can experience both luxury and tradition. While many areas of the Dolomites reflect both Austro-Hungarian and Ladin influences, Madonna di Campiglio remains distinctly Italian.
Depending on your arrival time, you may have the opportunity to enjoy a short hike in the pedestrian-friendly center, with cozy cafes, boutique hotels, and stylish mountain lodges. Before dinner you will meet your UIAGM Professional Mountain Guide, who will provide a trip briefing and gear for your via ferrata adventure. Here, you’ll wear your via ferrata equipment and begin your climb on the Sentiero Benini! Benini is a moderate difficulty via ferrata, It’s more of a hike with cables than a full-fledged technical climb, allowing you to focus on the scenery and enjoy the experience without the pressure of overly difficult sections, making it a perfect introduction to the region and via ferrata climbing. If this is your first time on a via ferrata, it’s a great opportunity to get comfortable with the equipment and practice the techniques!

The Via Ferrata Bocchette Alte is one of the most stunning and renowned via ferrata routes in the Brenta Dolomites, offering climbers an exhilarating experience with jaw-dropping views! It follows an exposed ledge along the eastern side of Cima Brenta (3,151 meters/10,338’), offering spectacular vistas over the surrounding valleys, mountains, and the pristine Lago di Molveno below.
The climb itself is well equipped and moderately difficult, offering a mix of fixed cables, ladders, and ledges, but it's not overly technical. The most challenging section comes at a small ice field crossing, which requires a little more skill and caution, especially if conditions are icy (we will have crampons with us!).
From here, you’ll begin your descent to your rifugio for the night, set in a high clearing with a stunning 360° view of the Brenta Dolomites.

Continue your adventure along the Via Delle Bocchette, tackling the challenging Bocchette Centrali.
The via ferrata crosses a series of stunning ledges, ladders, and steel cables that take you along the eastern flank of the Cima Brenta (3,150 meters / 10,338 feet), one of the highest peaks in the Brenta massif. The climb is a mixture of short, steep sections, horizontal traverses, and dramatic ridge crossings, with some parts requiring precise technique and confidence, especially on narrow ledges. Don’t worry, your guide will assist you in case you need!
One of the most notable and exciting sections of the route is the Sentiero Figari, a horseshoe-shaped ledge that wraps around the side of the mountain. The exposure here is breathtaking, with a sheer drop on either side!
You will arrive pretty early at your Rifugio for the night: there is still time for hiking a section of Sentiero Palmieri or for just enjoying the Rifugio life!Accommodation: Rifugio of the Dolomites
